Letter From My Varsity Basketball Coach

The disappointment that you think I have has nothing to do with you as a person or player. It weighs heavy on my heart that I have to struggle to get you to believe in yourself and see your true potential. Basketball is a mere game but the confidence and discipline gained by playing this can carry you a life time.

Is Starts With You!

One can lose many games in ones life time. To be a winner in the game of life is the game that matters the most. Doubt often turns into Fear which is Not of God!
You will always be a winner if you believe in yourself and God. All things are possible for those who believe in God.

I believe in You!
Just believe in Yourself!
God is always you.
God is always on time!

No matter the out come; you can be and always will be a winner!

Coach,

H. Harrison

Magnitizing Peculiarity #1: Lupe Fiasco

Lupe Fiasco; 26; Born and raised in the West side of Chicago; Grammy Award Winner Rapper and "Album Of The Year" nominated for the critically-acclaimed albums "Food & Liquor as well as "The Cool". What can I say about this dude's sense of fashion. Sometimes I wonder what's on his mind in the morning when he throws on his pieces? Even though I have my own style of fashion- his is very comparable to mine, for the simple fact that I guess trying out new things regardless of what people say. Now this man has been in several well credited magazines such as Complex; XXL MAG; KING; Swagger; Billboards; GIANT MAG; FanZine and most essentially GQ Magazine where he was named GQ's "Breakout Man Of The Year"

Also when it comes to his feet; it's really unbaring to watch. It something; sort of like an onion to my eye. From Lowtops-To-Hightops he figures out his way to illuminate every step that he takes. I guess an magnetizing peculiarity can come along way. Look what it has made me write about. ;-)

He so unique from others especially as a Hip-Hop Artist.
Who would have thought a Rapper could have Japanese Tendencies?
Or even love to Skate...
How different can you be... LOL

Does The Truth Hurts Sometimes?

Because of this now I see Kanye West as a different personnel. It really hurts to see one of your inspiring influences change your mind about them in a negative way. This was a very irrational decision for him to make. Not only this can possibly change people's view upon seeing him in a positive way, but as a music artist; his career can go down the toilet. It was a bad move of him, I just hope he gets through this because now he has lots of minds to change.

Communication

I think communication is one of the most important necessities we have in the world. It's an essential part of life that we use in our everyday life. But sometimes we can't live with it and sometimes, can't live without it,; we need it. Without it we can not make any point across to anyone, in order for them to comprehend a message or a point that your making. In opposition to that, with it we can create a world of controversy and conflict. Being able to express ourselves is a power that we all have; it sometimes can influence an ordeal of people whereas it may be received as a positive or a negative.

Communication varies from so many levels, it can come in so many forms; whether it is orally, eye contact, body language, a firm hand shake, literature or even rumors. This makes it diverse on choosing how one wants to be heard; ultimately it becomes quite a discretion to who you want to affect at the same token. The problem with this, once again; it can be obscure for the simple fact that you don't know what that person is thinking or how that person may take your message. In conclusion, this world is made up of many constituents, and one of those is the ability of expression; communication.

Allen Iverson To Memphis?

Finally throughout all the adversity he has been through with Detroit. Allen Iverson agreed to a 1 year deal with the Memphis Grizzlies of 3.5 Million. After being in pursuit of a team after being released and on to the free agency list, he's been nullified by many teams in rumor he would demand automatic start and be the franchise. This being said it has been the reason why he's was in a contridactary with Detroit's organization.

Now that he's in Memphis, they are really excited to have him. Him being a 10- Time Allstar and a future Hall Of Famer will not only bring excitement to the city of Memphis, in terms of business he will attract more fans and fillup the FedEx Forum. But overall Memphis organization feel that he would impact the team tremendously. They believe they can be a contender wit what Iverson has to offer. There for they feel content with what direction they are going towards.

Tomorrow Is The First Day Of Our Last Year

Ughh.... how can I start this... Well tomorrow is the first day of my senior in high school. Sometimes I can't believe that I reached this part of my life. When I was in elementary school I always thought high school was really difficult, sometimes I would go ahead and ask my cousins because they were in high school themselves if it really was hard at all. They would just tell me not really. As for my curiosity back then, now I can say it really isn't difficult because I've always done what I had to do. Thus, it has been a long road for me. I've experience so many things that taught me about life along with its inclinations. I hope this last year of high school all goes well for me. I wish the best out of life for those that always been there for me also. It seems like I'm writing a farewell letter but I'm writing this for those who are reading this who are also in their last stage of high school to make the most of it because I believe after this will define the person that we are going to be and what decisions we are going to make in the long run for the better or even for the worst.

Stimulus Money Reassures The Future For Teachers and Parents As Well As Students

American education has been in slump for teachers and students. Financial and employment problems have been relevant towards teachers and has effected many parents along with their kids across the country. Dozens of states have been plunged with a decline of revenue and most importantly lay-offs. Without this, it really reminds us and leads to the effects of the economy. By this effect it has placed many teachers with a class up to 40 or even 50 students. Furthermore it cut teachers salaries which was very obvious it would happen. Distressingly teachers would face a change outside of the classroom lives. The sad part about this is that the most assertive teachers were unfairly layed-off rather than emasculate ones. Gladly, many were re-hired thanks to the 100 billion dollar federal stimulus money which has been the last tip of the ice-berg for replacing revenues for schools. Hopefully this can upkeep the dozens contingencies towards the students future to a bright one. In closing we are wearing out of this recession but it will take a few years until we tarnish this predicament.

Setting Sights

Is the idea of jetting-off to college overwhelming? Did you consider into getting away from the animosity from where you are? Sometimes don't you feel like you need to view something new to be able to progress? The fact that you need to get away to college in a different environment is not the case, but the reason that there are so many opportunities out there. Having the fortuity to explore the things you want to do and at the same time gain the experience to be independent can be an admirable thing and may inspire others to do so. While being self assertive in college some where else will define the type of person you will be and discover things that you wouldn't do while holding your own. It's going to be hard in the beginning of your new life but in the end it is only going to make you a better individual. Think of it as a game and all the attributes you have to level up in order to get to the next stage, and setting sights for college in an environment where is fit for you is one of them. The only thing you have to remember is where you come from and make sure you gracefully take that with you.

I So Wish I Was A Teenager During The 80's-90's

Take This Into Consideration

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. Its an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. its a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing."

Opiniottes!

One of the problems in today's society that's in process in being reformed is providing reasonable Healthcare for the middle class across the country. This has been on my mind for this whole summer in purpose of that it has been opinionated that Barack Obama my fall in doing doing so. But I believe that all of these critics and Republicans are adding to another reason in their minds that it was at fault of his presidency. They want to impel in their deepest thoughts that if he does fail as president of the United States it will be the greatest downfall and dissapointment in history. I feel that they are making all sort of these comments because it seems in their eyes that his popularity overrides his task at hand. Therefore they don't think its possible for him to make healthcare manageable for everyone suffiently. But we do understand that this one of or may be the biggest problem he has to clean up. However "Impossible Is Nothing".

Journal Entry # 2: Distinctive Muslims

If I had the opportunity to research and write one story for the New York Times it would be the absurd scenery of Muslim immigrants sitting inside a bus with a full set black gown from head to toe. Sometimes it’s unbearable to watch because they are sequently dressed in various ways. For example, some of them are dressed with an all black gown all over their body. The dresses either don’t have any vision for them to see, their face is completely covered for no one to see at all. The gown may sometimes be too long that it drags on the ground. Also the gown is formed in a way that doesn’t allow them to show their skin complexion; therefore it doesn’t have any sleeves. So this placed an overwhelming feeling toward me and everybody else for the simple reason that we are not used to seeing things like that. Then our ignorance comes and overrides our judgement by assuming they are peculiar.

This idea has been on my mind for a very long time and I would be more than gladly to interview a Muslim of that sort to be able to be behind the scenes toward their way of living as well as getting to why they dress the way they do. To be honest it can qualm people to the point that they can get too roused by their presence.

Definition Of Journalism

Journalism is one of the most fast-paced jobs in the United States and around world. To me I call it a skilled labor for the simple reason that you don’t have to be gifted with the ability to write. But in my mind the ability to write comes from the inner feelings and experiences of one self, and that is the diversity of journalism. The various qualities of where people make an impact on paper extends and exposes their life lessons to their wisdom to the world which can even place a major impact to readers.

If you really think about it journalism has broaden its horizons by evolving itself from being stemmed as a book and newspaper, but it has adapted to the media side of the world. So again, the diversity of journalism has been constructive and productive because now it can be followed by more than one opportunity. Journalism in today’s generation has acknowledged people from all kinds of backgrounds in the world. It has empowered people to be very intellectual as well as being literary at the same time.

In closing, journalism is one of the most competitive jobs. It is a growing responsibility that’s always on its tip of its toe towards getting the job done. Journalism is a stepping stone for me because it made me find out something about myself that I didn’t even perceive, it showed me that it’s possible to write about any situation from the mind and soul in which it can shed a light to the people. To me that is the definition of Journalism.
